CLASSES AVAILABLE AT LEICESTER AND RETFORD
An introduction to Pilates , focusing on correct posture and alignment, using the Five Basic Principles. An effective technique is gradually built up in preparation for more challenging exercises. – Pilates is also an excellent way of maintaining strength and flexibility during and after pregnancy. Sessions will always be geared to the individual, with adaptations where necessary, whatever their level of fitness at the time.
General level pilates
Matwork for all levels. More challenging, new exercises will be added to the repertoire to continue building strength and stamina. Participants will always be encouraged to work to their own level, and will never be pushed into attempting something they are not comfortable with.
A faster paced session comprising high value strengthening exercises. Participants are advised that some Pilates knowledge is desirable but not essential.
Pilates stretch and relax
After 30 minutes of intensity, it’s great to stretch everything out, relax and cool down. An ideal session to round off the day.
The session involves use of Pilates specific equipment, including Reformer, Stability chair, Arc barrel and Stability balls. A fantastic way to focus on over all body strength, with exciting and challenging moves on the apparatus.
One 2 one pilates
Private Pilates sessions are available by appointment. Sometimes it is beneficial to take one or two one-to one sessions prior to joining a mainstream class, to become familiar with the technique and provide greater confidence in a group setting. Private sessions are also perfect for recovery after injury or illness. With specialised Pilates equipment such as Reformer, Stability Chair and Frame, Private sessions can also be a fantastic way of building up strength and flexibility with exercises adapted to the individual. A high energy workout involving short bursts of high intensity simple cardio moves, with lower impact intervals in between. A very effective way of building strength and stamina in a short space of time.
This challenging class uses simple cardio moves to create four cycles of aerobic activity and two rounds of upper and lower body conditioning. All in 30 minutes! Work to your own level!
An intensive class using kettlebells, to target posterior chain muscles, abs and cardio fitness. Guaranteed to tone and strengthen. Because of its intensity, this class is not advisable for those with any significant injuries, or for those who haven’t exercised for some time.
A fun class, with some basic technique and some more tricky dance steps to try! The emphasis is to enjoy the sensation of movement whilst getting a thorough workout. For all ages and abilities.
